I tried optimizing the PC with Advanced SystemCare, CCleaner, optimizing my SSD on which the OS is placed, defragmenting my other 2 HDDs and downloaded SecureAPlus to verify that there are no malicious apps or files (came out clean). I heard that installing Avira once again and uninstalling it with their uninstaller might work, but no. So I tried doing everything they provided in the guide (safe mode, renaming the folder and then safe mode), but to no success. It states that I need to get Administrators permission even though I am the only user and administrator on the PC. Still wrestling with Firefox and Thunderbird to get their application window to open. ![]() AVGnt.exe process is Data Execution prevention Enabled, according to Task Manager. In order to uninstall Avira, I need to delete the Avira folder in C:/Program Data, however it doesn't allow me to. Managed to disable Avira services in Windows Safe mode and uninstall other components except Avira AntiVirus. So I tried to uninstall the rest of it with their guides and registry cleaner. I looked at the Task Manager and saw that multiple of Avira's programs were still present on the system and running (including their antivirus). Even while opening simple programs, the overall speed of the PC is god awful. Right after uninstalling, I rebooted my PC and low and behold, it's having seizures all the time. The Avira AntiVir Rescue System is often updated several times a day so that the most recent security updates are always available. You can then use this CD/DVD to boot your computer. In that moment I decided to uninstall Avira with IOBit Uninstaller. Just double-click on the rescue system package to burn it to a CD/DVD. However the problems started on 20th December when I got a notification from Avira that it blocked registry access that was caused by Malwarebytes trying to delete some entries. I scanned with both of them, quarantined everything that came up and all was good. If you have moved the Avira Antivirus uninstaller to the trash on your dock and the program fails to uninstall correctly, some Antivirus files will remain running on your system. I got confirmation from that person, that it's a virus, so I immediately installed Malwarebytes and Avira (normally I used only Windows Defender). Most computer programs are installed with its build-in uninstaller that can also help. ![]() On 16th December, I screwed myself and opened a virus link on messenger.
